What INSPIRED you to become a model?
I had always been interested in modelling, as I love the world of fashion, but never felt like it was the right time to apply to an agency. Fortunately, Dayna of HOUS Management scouted me in September of 2024 while she was in the drive thru of McDonald’s (where I was working), pushing me to take the leap and go for it. She was paying for her coffee and abruptly said, “Do you model?” and then, “Do you want to?” and gave me the HOUS Management instagram to connect with her. I followed the instagram and soon enough I was taking digitals in the studio. I was so happy to have been scheduled to work that day!
What are you most excited about when it comes to modeling?
As I said, I love fashion. I feel like fashion and modelling go hand in hand, so I get the most excited about the different looks I will get to experience while modelling. Whether that’s with clothing, accessories, or beauty, I love getting to see myself in different styles through different perspectives.
It is also exciting to me that I will get to work with different stylists and designers; I have so much respect for them and their artistry and I am honoured I’ll get to showcase their work!
Can you share with us some advice you have for models wanting to get into the industry?
There are definitely some key pointers I’ve learned so far in my modelling journey, the first being to feel confident in yourself! It is so hard to tap in to your fierceness during a shoot or in any modelling-related scenario if you are feeling too insecure about yourself, so try your best to be as confident as you can. It’s totally ok to feel awkward, and you probably will, especially when you’re first starting out and have no experience. I definitely can relate, you have to just get yourself in the zone and loosen up!
Also, if you’re thinking about applying to be a model, just apply! It took me being scouted to push me to get into modelling, as I was always too nervous to apply. Thinking back, there was nothing to be nervous about, you might as well try!
share a fun fact about yourself!
A fun fact about me is I have a knack for film photography! As a teenager I would always buy those little disposable cameras to take pictures of my friends and I, but when I was gifted a vintage Nikon EM film camera for my 19th birthday I became extra passionate about film. I now use both that camera and a small automatic film camera I found while thrifting (another passion of mine). I even got my boyfriend to develop a love for film photography, so now we both bring our cameras everywhere we go to capture whatever we find worthy of being on film!
