Answers to Q&A

Why did you want to become a model?

Growing up, my family and I spent lots of nights watching America’s Next Top Model together. As a little girl who loved playing dress up, shopping in my mom’s closet and hosting mini runway shows with my sister, what I saw on screen seemed like a lot of fun. My parents always made me feel like that dream could be a reality for me, and soon enough, at 7 years old, I became connected with the wonderful agents at Kamera Talent.

What makes you special?

People have always commented on how special my bright blonde hair is - even strangers. People closer to me know that what makes me truly unique is my playful personality. My whole life, my mum has run a daycare in our very own home. Because of this, I am constantly surrounded by children and they continue to be a big inspiration to me. Their imagination, creativity and make-believe games teach me to stay playful and keep me open to all kinds of creative ideas. When I’m modelling, I have so much fun exploring the personas and stories that go into a designer or photographer’s vision.

What are you passionate about?

I am super passionate about inspiring children to follow their dreams. As I’ve pursued a career as a professional model, I’ve been told many times that this is a far fetched dream. Even though this has been discouraging sometimes, something I teach children that I’ve learned from working with so many incredible people is that being kind, focused and hardworking truly can make dreams possible.

Who is someone you admire and why?

My grandma was always the one to sit through my hours long modelling shoots, and to encourage me to believe in myself and my dream. As my unofficial manager, she set an example for me that it was important to treat everyone with kindness, but that I should also be confident in myself. Despite being your typical friendly old grandma, she was never afraid to ask questions on my behalf, to push me to come out of my shell or even to request a breakfast croissant for herself from the coffee order.

How did you become a model?

When I was 7, I was at a play with my mum and we met someone from Kamera Talent. With their team, I got to learn more about acting and modelling, and although I ended up wanting to focus on being a model, every acting audition helped build my confidence for future castings. Six years later, when I was 14, I was skating at a local rink with some friends and met my lovely agent Brandon Hall. He asked if I’d ever thought about modelling, and I told him about Kamera Talent. What a happy coincidence - he was from Sutherland Models, the partner agency to Kamera Kids - and he set me up with an interview. Another 7 years later, and Sutherland continues to support me in working as a model worldwide!
