Answers to Q&A
What INSPIRED you to become a model?
I was inspired to become a model due to my interest in fashion and design. My father is an architect/designer and shared his interest in many forms of art, especially fashion, with me since I was young. I really got into fashion around grade 9 as a way to better present myself. My dad had a few designer pieces, which he’d let me raid his closet for. My interest sparked, I would do a little research on the labels, and that snowballed into following top designers and their collections, new and old. Coupled with this, as I got older, people would suggest that I try modelling. My mom, who was also a model at my age, was really supportive of the idea, and so I applied to LeDrew and was thrilled to be accepted.
What are you most excited about when it comes to modeling?
What I am most excited about is being able to create something interesting and beautiful as part of a collaborative team. There are so many talented people in the industry, and I want to be able to work with a wide range of teams that have different visions. I especially enjoy bringing an expressive, dynamic energy to shoots due to my love for Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. While I love those dramatic, statement-making moments, I’m equally eager to adapt my approach to suit more subtle, classic, or experimental concepts, always aiming to help bring the creative vision to life.
Can you share with us some advice you have for models wanting to get into the industry?
I’m new in the industry, so I’m reluctant to offer too much advice, but I can share some of my guiding principles. These would be to believe in yourself in order to show up with confidence, to always be kind, to roll with the punches and not be too hard on yourself, and remember to enjoy it.
share a fun fact about yourself!
A fun fact about myself is that I played competitive hockey throughout my childhood, wrapping up as an AAA player in my teens - and I still play recreationally today. While it couldn’t seem further from the world of fashion, it’s a great way to stay fit, work your competitive edge, and enjoy being part of a team.
I was also able to beat pre-neft Promised Consort Radahn in Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erd Tree.
