Answers to Q&A

What INSPIRED you to become a model?

Believe it or not, when I was younger, I made everyone think I hated taking pictures. Whenever we went shopping, I’d act like I didn’t care about fashion, which probably surprised my mom, considering she was a model and I was always sneaking into her closet because her clothes looked better than mine. You can imagine how confused she was when I ended up wanting to be one too.

The truth is, I always admired her. I loved looking at her “model book” and seeing how her personality came through in every picture by the way she posed, looked at the camera, and dressed. That’s what inspired me. Deep down, I always wanted to have a “model book” of my own, as I used to call it when I was younger.

Everyone used to tell me I had the look to be a model, but I was too shy to admit that’s what I really wanted. Still, every time someone said it, it made me secretly happy because deep down, I knew it was true. I was just waiting for the right time :)

What are you most excited about when it comes to modeling?

When I go to a shoot, I absolutely love seeing how different my face can look and how I can switch from being myself to becoming a completely different character. It’s like meeting someone new in the mirror each time.

Sometimes you have to stay open-minded and step out of your comfort zone to truly “act” for the camera without overthinking things like, “Do I look crazy?” or “Am I doing this right?” I think it’s important not to think too much, because I guarantee the camera can tell when you do.

This is what I love the most when it comes to modelling. It’s being able to express different sides of myself, lose all self-consciousness, and fully connect with the moment in front of the camera.

Can you share with us some advice you have for models wanting to get into the industry?

My biggest advice for anyone wanting to get into modeling is to never take rejection too personally. This industry can be unpredictable, one day you might not fit the look a brand is going for, and the next day, you could be exactly what someone’s searching for.

It’s also really important to remember that you are your own boss. You decide what projects align with your values, what image you want to represent, and how you want to grow. Surround yourself with people who truly support you whether that’s your agency, photographers, or fellow models. Having the right team and energy around you makes a huge difference in staying confident, motivated, and true to yourself.

share a fun fact about yourself!

I recently got my motorcycle license! I’ve always liked trying new things, and this one definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way possible. When I’m dedicated to something, I have to achieve it to feel 100% satisfied. I’ve always loved motorcycles, so after long hours of learning (and a lot of fun), I finally got it! Plus, it might be the easiest way to get around when traveling!
