Answers to Q&A
Why did you want to become a model?
I was a competitive dancer, an enthusiastic one, who really enjoyed performing on stage. I have all types of dance under my belt, including my favourites, contemporary and hip hop. As I continued to grow reaching 5’11 in height at 13 years old, it felt like a natural transition to want to walk down a runway. Not only has becoming a model been one of the most exciting things in my life, it’s also been a major confidence booster.
What makes you special?
What makes me special is my diverse interests. Dancing from a young age, then playing competitive volleyball, I’ve learned a lot about discipline and teamwork. I also continue to work on staying confident under pressure. My skills led me to the amazing experience of being selected for Team Ontario White Volleyball this past summer. Working hard and getting the best grades I can in school is very important to me. Modelling is also a big part of who I am because it allows me to express myself and connect to others with the same interests. Most importantly, I am surrounded by love from my family and friends, and the support they give me to chase my dreams.
What are you passionate about?
When I was 11 years old, my dad brought me to a rep volleyball tryout. Only twelve girls showed up so inevitably I made the team. That first year I fell in love with the sport and have continued to grow as an athlete ever since. My love for volleyball has only become stronger each year and is definitely a passion of mine.
What is your most prized possession and why?
In 2024 I went to the Canadian Model and Talent Convention (CMTC). I was timid, scared and nervous. During this four day convention I wore a badge with the number 332. I competed in competitions and met agents from around the world. To close the convention an award ceremony was held. Hoping to get one award, I was so surprised to hear my number called multiple times that night. Hearing the number 332 to win Model of the Year in my age category was an amazing moment for me. During that time, I realized who I could be. Having struggled with my confidence (particularly my height), that badge is a reminder of the girl who arrived at the convention versus the girl I was when I left.
How did you become a model?
At 12 years old, my parents signed me up with the local modelling agency, Mode Elle, located in my hometown of Belleville. Mode Elle offers a fun modelling course that teaches a variety of skills, as well as insights into the modelling and acting industry. From there, I experienced my first photo shoots and began preparing to attend the Canadian Model and Talent Convention (CMTC).
After participating in CMTC, I signed with Sutherland Models in Toronto and Together Model Management in Montreal, where I am currently signed and working. I look forward to being placed with agencies in Europe once I reach the right age to do so!
