Answers to Q&A

What inspired you to become a model?

My inspiration to become a model began when I was a young girl looking through my mom’s old modeling photos from Colombia in the late 80s. I was captivated by the fashion, the confidence, and the pride in her culture that came through in every shot. On my Colombian side, how you present yourself has always been important, and I became fascinated by the idea of dressing up and letting your confidence speak for you.

Years later, I decided to finally follow that dream and competed in a model search event.  During the event, I received nine callbacks from international representatives and was scouted by Brandon Hall, who is now my agent at Sutherland Models in Toronto.

It’s been such an exciting journey so far and this is only the beginning!

What are you most excited about when it comes to modeling?

Honestly? The thrill of the unknown. As a new face in the industry, every job feels like the start of something exciting. New sets, new people, new creative energy. I’m already seeing myself evolve with each shoot and experience, and I’m loving the challenge of stepping into spaces I used to only dream about.

What really gets me going is the idea of landing that first big campaign or walking a runway. To explore different styles, moods, and concepts. Whether it’s high fashion, beauty, or editorial, I love the idea of transforming and telling a different story every time I step in front of the camera. That kind of creative freedom is what keeps me inspired!

Can you share with us some advice you have for models wanting to get into the industry?

Just do it. Do it scared. Do it nervous. The most important thing is to believe in yourself, even before anyone else does. You are your biggest advocate and confidence speaks volumes.

Submit those digitals. Show up to castings and events. Put yourself in the right rooms and don’t be afraid to go after what you want. Also, lean on your peers and co-workers. Ask questions, build connections and stay open to learning. We all start somewhere and there’s space for you too!

Share a fun fact about yourself!

I am a professionally trained pastry chef. I spent a few years working in fine dining in Toronto’s Entertainment District, and now I run a home-based baking business. When I am not modeling, you can usually find me in the kitchen developing recipes and cooking up a storm. Food is another huge passion of mine, and it is where I get to be creative in a completely different way.
