Canadian Talent Takes the Snowy Runway at ROYALMOUNT’s HIVER 2.0

Photos by Models of Canada

Winter arrived early in Montréal this year, at least on the runway. On October 1, ROYALMOUNT’s Urban Park became a snow-dusted stage for HIVER 2.0, the second edition of the lifestyle destination’s open-air, seasonal fashion show. With a retro après-ski setting and around 54 looks, the night gave the public a front-row view of what Canadians will be wearing once the temperature drops.

For us at Models of Canada, the real story was the people wearing the clothes.

A Runway Built on Canadian Talent

HIVER 2.0 brought together talent from eight agencies: Humankind, Public Image, Montage, Together, Folio, Dolcedo, Evangelina and Spot 6. Shows of this size depend on strong casting, and this lineup showed how deep the Canadian modelling community runs. The cast carried everything from heavy down parkas to satin eveningwear, and had to make each one convincing on an outdoor runway in fall air.

It was also a reminder of why events like this matter for working models. A public show with a live crowd, major retail brands and a polished production gives talent real runway experience close to home, without needing to travel abroad.

Nine Brands, One Season

The designer roster spanned Canadian heritage outerwear and global labels:

  • Moose Knuckles and Quartz Co. grounded the show in serious cold-weather pieces, from bold down parkas to Montréal-made heritage coats.

  • Rudsak added a sharp, city-ready edge, mixing statement outerwear with ski-inspired looks.

  • Sports Experts showed that performance gear can work just as well downtown as on the slopes.

  • M2 Boutique and Marie Saint Pierre leaned into personality and polish, with Marie Saint Pierre’s blush-and-black palette standing out.

  • ALDO made the case for accessories, from knee-high leather boots to structured bags.

  • Dynamite kept things trend-forward and night-out ready.

  • Michael Kors closed with refined tailoring and city glamour.

Behind the Scenes

The show was produced by Humankind, which also supplied talent to the runway, with creative direction by Hans Koechling (The Image Official). Together they turned a mall park into a full winter experience, bringing fashion, beauty and local culture into one evening.

Why It Matters

HIVER has quickly grown from a new idea into a fixture on Montréal’s fall calendar. For Canadian brands, it’s a chance to show winter dressing as something to look forward to. For Canadian models and agencies, it’s proof that major runway moments are happening right here at home, and that’s something we’ll always celebrate.
