Answers to Q&A
What INSPIRED you to become a model?
I unexpectedly got scouted while on a trip to Mexico City. On my final night, after a Lucha Libre match at Arena Mexico, my now-agent, Jarrett, approached me. It turns out we were both from Toronto! It was literally an insane happenstance moment but also very fantastic (and life-changing). Turned out I live only a 5 min drive from the agency…
Once we were both back in Toronto, we set up a meeting, and since then, I’ve entered a world that I have come to love! Since I’ve started modelling, my mom has always been my inspiration. She modelled for a bit when she was younger. She always showed me her photos and I was always enchanted by her stories and the stunning looks from her modelling days. She has been my biggest role model (pun intended), and being able to follow in her footsteps always pushes me to open myself up to the wonderful experiences that this career has to offer!
What are you most excited about when it comes to modeling?
When it comes to modeling, I'm most excited about getting to experience the creative process and having the opportunity to work with creatives who are so knowledgeable and passionate about what they do… From photographers to stylists and makeup artists. From my experiences on set so far, it’s such a wonderful time being a part of a group that strives to create something beautiful. I also can't wait to see where modeling takes me (literally), whether it's traveling or working with brands that I've always admired. Each shoot feels like a new adventure, and I’m always eager to see how different styles can transform an idea into something captivating.
Can you share with us some advice you have for models wanting to get into the industry?
Some advice for anyone wanting to get into this industry would be to stay open and patient. Nothing happens overnight, and sometimes that’s okay. It's important to spend the time learning and becoming comfortable in new environments. I've also learned that adaptability is crucial, as every job can be different, whether it's the style of the shoot, the dynamics of the team, or the directives of the client. Embracing new experiences is important, and such a major part of modelling.
share a fun fact about yourself!
Horror is my favourite genre, across all boards… Books, movies, TV shows, ANYTHING! I remember watching Birds by Alfred Hitchcock with my mom when I was younger (old enough…I think), and since then I’ve been a horror fan. From this year, Bring Her Back for A24 had me floored.
