Answers to Q&A

What INSPIRED you to become a model?

I’ve always been into fashion. When I was a kid, I would design my own clothes and put together outfits. My mum said I would always pose when getting my photo taken. She was the one who suggested that I try doing a photoshoot to see if I liked modelling, but I was really unsure about it. I had just started high school, and I was shy and self-conscious, but I wanted to give it a try. It was a private shoot in a mall photo studio, but I had a really good time. The photographer offered to do more shoots with me for free. I shot with them a few times just to see if it was something I wanted to do more of. It turned out to be something I really enjoyed. With my background in ballet, I found that I could apply a lot of the skills I had acquired in dance in the context of fashion. Modelling was a great creative outlet for me. I sent off a couple of images to local agencies, and I was scouted the next day.

What are you most excited about when it comes to modeling?

I love using movement and posing to tell a story and showcase the artistry of designers, stylists, and HMUAs. I get excited to wear unique pieces of clothing made by really talented people that most people would never have a reason to wear, like haute couture pieces that make me feel like a walking piece of art. I love meeting all kinds of creative people, learning about their unique styles, and helping to bring their vision to life. The prospect of travelling to different places and experiencing unique cultural perspectives on fashion is probably what excites me most.

Can you share with us some advice you have for models wanting to get into the industry?

I think studying, training, and honing your craft isn’t discussed enough with new models. To improve, it is essential to do research, understand the industry, and practice. Posing and walking are things that only really improve with repetition; it doesn’t always come naturally! It’s much easier to feel confident in yourself when you feel prepared for whatever comes your way, and that's critical to surviving in an industry where rejection is part of your day-to-day.

It’s also crucial to take care of yourself and make sure you’re meeting your basic needs. Things like nutrition, fitness, and rest are not just important when preparing for a shoot or fashion week, but all the time. I think models tend to burn out easily because we don’t take good enough care of ourselves to sustain a busy and active lifestyle.

share a fun fact about yourself!

I’m a massive Dungeons and Dragons nerd! I met my partner in a D&D group, and I still love playing with my friends and family, both as a player and as a Game Master. I’m also really into sciences. In 2026, I plan to start my university studies in physics and astronomy.

I love thrifting and upcycling clothes too! It’s a great way to get and make unique pieces while being ecologically friendly.
