Answers to Q&A

What INSPIRED you to become a model?

Fashion and modeling have always quietly followed me through life, almost like they were waiting for me to catch up. When I was little, I used to style all my Barbies for imaginary runway shows, creating looks and stories like it was second nature. And when I got old enough, I started doing the same thing…but on myself.

My mom modeled for a short time before she had me and she’s always had this incredible sense of style. Fashion was always present in our house. She had the most amazing shoes, and I’d wobble around in her heels like I was born to strut before I could even really walk. It was a mess, but a glamorous one!

For a long time, I let modeling live in the background of my life. It was a dream, but one I hadn’t fully stepped into. I think part of me was waiting until I was ready, not just in looks, but in confidence. And when that moment came, I knew it was time to stop shrinking and start chasing what I love.

I got signed by meeting the right people and being in the right place at the right time, which led to being scouted. I'll never stop being grateful for it. I wasn’t scouted in the traditional sense either. I actually met Maddison Lynn from Maddison & Company while casting for a runway show. Right-time, right place kinda moment. From there, she became a mentor who guided me and taught me so much about the industry and myself as a model.

Through Maddison, I connected with Peggi, my amazing mother agent, who truly cares about her models. Now I’m signed with Lang for Toronto and Montreal, and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead!

What are you most excited about when it comes to modeling?

There’s so much I love about modeling, it’s more than just fashion. It’s about the story behind every look, the emotion you can convey through a single pose or glance. Modeling lets you express so much without words, and that’s truly powerful.

The runway is like stepping into another world, electrifying, transformative. You’re embodying someone else’s vision, yet somehow more yourself than ever. When you step out there, it’s just you and the lights. You don’t notice the crowd or the noise; it all fades. For those few moments, there could be hundreds of eyes, but you only feel the rhythm of your walk and the click of the cameras. It’s presence in its purest form.

Also, photoshoots offer a different kind of magic. They’re more intimate and precise, capturing subtle emotions frame by frame. I love how even still images can tell a story. What inspires me most is the collaboration, the way designers, photographers, stylists, and makeup artists all come together to create something unforgettable. Being part of that shared vision reminds me that modeling is about more than looks; it’s about making people feel.

Can you share with us some advice you have for models wanting to get into the industry?

It’s super important to stay safe and be smart. Make sure you know which agencies are the real deal and which ones aren’t. Do your research, ask questions, and always trust your gut.

Also, remember that not every part of the industry will be the perfect fit for your look, and that’s totally okay. Don’t take it personally. A “no” just means there’s something better around the corner. Don’t be afraid to change things up, try new styles, and take a few risks; that’s part of what makes modeling so fun.

share a fun fact about yourself!

I’m a bit of a walking contradiction, in the best way! I’m super extroverted and love being around people, but I also deeply enjoy alone time where I can write poetry, listen to music, and read for hours.

I’m also currently learning Korean, just for fun, because I love languages and picking up new things that challenge me!
