What INSPIRED you to become a model?
I was inspired to pursue modelling because since I can remember I’ve always loved fashion, photography, and preforming. Growing up I was heavily inspired seeing fashion displayed in movies, music videos, and fashion shows. I have early memories of flipping through magazines and drawing models for hours. Noticing people in my life displaying their identity through fashion inspired me to do the same. All these inspirations solidified the fact I always knew I wanted to be apart of this creative world. When I was 15, I applied to an agency and started to become familiar with the modelling world. I’m so happy I did because it has has changed my life in many ways.
What are you most excited about when it comes to modeling?
I get so excited to model because I love the process of letting go and becoming a character to tell a story through expressions. Every subtle change in pose can create a whole new feeling and relayed emotion. The experience of being on set for the first time showed me how much work everyone puts into the creative process, it made me feel immense gratitude to be apart of a collaborative artistic project. No one involved knows how the experience will exactly go and I think the surprise aspect of the final product is so satisfying and connecting.
Can you share with us some advice you have for models wanting to get into the industry?
My advice for models wanting to get into the industry is to always stay true and kind to yourself. Give yourself grace in every regard, but be extremely open to trying new things. Keeping an open mindset will always benefit your career. Breathe through being on set and try to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Everyone wants you to feel safe and open to connect. I would also say to experiment with other art forms or anything in your life and see how your modelling changes. Inspiration from anywhere can change your modelling when you have multiple outlets.
