Answers to Q&A

What INSPIRED you to become a model?

I wish I had a glamorous “scouted at a café in Paris” moment but I applied on a random Tuesday with blackberry stains on my shirt (snacking mid-application). Didn’t overthink it, just decided one day that I wanted to see what might happen. It kind of snowballed from there. Sometimes chaos works.

What are you most excited about when it comes to modeling?

I love people-watching, and modeling is kind of the reverse of that because you’re the one being watched- it’s weirdly fun. Also I love the transformation. One minute you’re in a hoodie drinking tea, the next you’re standing in front of a lens, dressed like a character you didn’t know you had in you. There’s something cool about being a different energy every day.

Can you share with us some advice you have for models wanting to get into the industry?

If I could go back to the very beginning I would probably say “don’t wait to feel ready.” You’ll waste years trying to become what you already are. And modeling is half about how you look and half about how you hold yourself when nothing’s going to plan. Practice being chill in front of a camera. The best photos and the best energy is usually captured in between the “poses.” Let your edges show- that’s what people remember.

Also: good shoes, always. You never know how far you’ll walk.

share a fun fact about yourself!

I once went to a shoot with a sprained ankle and no one noticed. Pain? Chic. Limp? Editorial.
