Mother Agency (MA): CIOTTI MODELS

Answers to Q&A

What INSPIRED you to become a model?

I originally started off in content creation and was scouted a few years back. That agency handled influencers and models. Some of my family members were already signed with the content side of the agency and I thought it’d be cool if I joined as well! I was more into that in the beginning…. But nothing seemed to pan out on the modelling side of things so I moved on.

Fast forward until now, I’ve developed a stronger passion for fashion, art and photography. I incorporate it a lot into my content creation now... but still thought how cool it’d be to just do both… So I searched around for Toronto agencies that catered to models as opposed to influencers. After doing some research online and seeing some agencies that I liked I started to set up some meetings. After seeing several agencies, Ciotti Models ultimately showed the most interest and saw the most potential in me. I got signed just this year and feel I’ve already accomplished some amazing features like modelling for Fashion Canada magazine with Nick Merzetti and and George Antonopoulos. I’ve also booked jobs and shot for Harry Rosen, JD Sports, Mayerman, and Bluenotes.

What are you most excited about when it comes to modeling?

I’d say the spontaneousness of the job excites me the most. The last minute bookings & castings makes it seem like anything can happen at any time. You could be working one day her in Toronto and in Europe the following week (though I haven’t travelled internationally yet). As a spontaneous person it just gives me excitement not knowing when the next job or booking is.

Can you share with us some advice you have for models wanting to get into the industry?

The best piece of advice I’d give to newcomers joining the industry is to go with an agency that expressively shows the most interest in you. With this said, don’t go for the name of the agency. Go for the individual booker in an agency… the one who is going to be your point person who is the most excited about you.

Second is to invest in yourself. Show agencies, brands & designers you care to be here. Simply by taking care of your body/health, posting pictures/videos showing looks & personality on socials & learning how to communicate/network. Also investing into your portfolio. You are about to be shown to brands who are working with already established talent. You need images to compete… it’s been a game changer for me.

share a fun fact about yourself!

A crazy fun fact about me is I book random trips or little getaways every now and then so life doesn’t feel like I’m stuck in one place. I like meeting new people and different cultures trying to document as much as I can. I’ve made more friends and connections abroad than I have in my hometown. Poor money management skills yes, lol... but worth it for the soul!
